Dr. R Mark Matar, DMD

Hi! It's me the owner of this practice and the one who writes this website (including the grammatical and spelling errors). I grew up in Winter Park, left after high school and moved back 11 years later after finishing my dental residency at the University of Colorado to start this practice.  It's been a great journey that I hope continues for many many years to come.   I'm also a dentist in the Florida National Guard.  Military service is something I've wanted to do since I was a kid and I love it (maybe not all the hurrying up and waiting, but you know what I mean.)  Any questions about this office can be directed to me. 

Dr. Christopher Resnik, DMD

Prosthodontist

This is Chris, he's the prosthodontist that's quickly becoming more popular than me around here :( He grew up in Pittsburgh playing hockey but being a third-generation dentist, he figured he should keep his teeth.  He played golf at Lafayette College. then went on to dental school and his prosthodontic specialty at University of Pittsburgh.  Because of Dan Marino he's a Miami Dolphins fan.  He lectures about dental implants with his dad at the Misch-Resnik Institute.  He still loves playing golf, He and his wife Tara got married on a boat and his only regret is that he could have his Golden Retriever Schenley on the boat during the ceremony (but I believe he was waiting for them at the reception :)

Dr. Jorge Valle, DMD MD

Oral Surgeon

Dr. Valle and I met in a somewhat serendipitous way.  After talking to him for a while I could tell he was serious about his craft.  Unbenounced to me he and Dr Resnik had already met and hit it off.  Later that day I was talking to Chris and he mentioned that he also enjoyed meeting Dr. Valle and thought he would be a good addition to the office as there is a lot of synergy between prosthetics and surgery.  Well I didn't need to hear much more than that, I got to work, did what I had to do as the practice owner and BOOM Dr. Valle is here!!

Dr. Valle went to dental school at the  University of Florida (which by the way is the school that rejected me and I maaaaay still be a bit bitter about.)  He then went on to do his Oral Surgery specialty at the University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Memorial Hospital.  I believe this took him another zillion years plus or minus a few decades but who's counting at this point, he's here now 

He lives in Orlando with his wife, son, and their chocolate lab Hershey. I realize most of our patients are not eagerly looking forward to meeting an oral surgeon.  But I hope that if you do need a surgeon, that you’ll find Dr. Valle’s bedside manner comforting, and notice his dedication to being a great surgeon.
