Winter Park Dentistry- Post Care Guide for dental fillings

Dr. Ramzi Matar:

This is post-care instructions for patients of mine that have had a filling put in. I’m going to generalize with both silver and white fillings because generally the instructions are the same. The only major difference is silver fillings, you should not eat on them for about 2 hours, as silver fillings do harden up similar to concrete overtime, versus white fillings are hardened up in the chair. If you’ve had a white filling you noticed the blue light that shined on it, that actually hardens the filling, and when you get out of the chair it’s going to be as ...

Winter Park Dentistry- Toothaches Podcast

Dr. Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry): Hello everybody, welcome to this episode of our podcast. Today I have my special guest Dr. Thao Le. Our topic today is a common topic, something that every dentist on the planet knows about, toothaches. While we could go on and on about toothaches, we’re going to try and keep things somewhat introductory for people watching this. A little bit of background on you, Dr. Le. You have a pretty extensive dental education, you’re ultra-geek for sure, you started off in dental school, then you went I think and did a year of ...

Winter Park Dentistry-Canker Sores, Herpes, Oral Cancer (part 2)

Dr. Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry): It’s probably common sense if you’re a dentist… Then you said something interesting… Two points I want to bring home, you said something about it not being contagious after it crusts over, so if you see like a shell crust over it, now it’s healing…

Dr. Indraneel Bhattacharyya: Yeah, like in any other sores on the body. It’s the same thing. You don’t have to treat it…

Dr. Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry): It’s over, it’s just healing. So, the other thing, now, this virus lives in ...

Winter Park Dentistry-Pediatric Dentistry (part 1)

Dr. Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry): Yeah, I remember seeing that and you teaching me the psychology of it. I think that’s good note, I always liked that, even the way the office is built and tailored, it’s for kids. You go into your office, there’s paintings on the wall, giraffes, etc. I think it’s nice that it’s sort of tailored for children. To know that there’s a rationale that makes sense.

Dr. Charlie Bertot: We definitely have fun with it.

Dr. Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry): Okay, a little bit of home discussions for parents. I want to ...

Children and Pacifiers

Test

Dr Ramzi Matar (Winter Park Dentistry):

Hello, welcome to this episode of our podcast. Today we’re talking about a common question for children, for baby teeth, and it is the old classic pacifier. I get a lot of mothers that ask me when do we get rid of the pacifier, does it cause problems, does it make your teeth crooked, when should I get them off the pacifier? I’m going to give you some recommendations, this is springtime 2015. I’m going to go through a recent article I read that was interesting that talks about the pros and cons ...
